In the thesis the theoretical fundamentals of leadership in educational sphere have been highlighted on the basis of comparative pedagogical research of leadership phenomenon of scientific pedagogical workers of universities in England and Wales. They are based on the complex combination of theories, concepts and approaches of philosophy, sociology, psychology, pedagogy and management. The classification of leadership models in educational sphere has been presented. The influence of international higher education space tendencies on the development of leadership of scientific pedagogical workers of English and Welsh universities has been analyzed.
