Essay

The paper elucidates systematically for the first time the Ukrainian public movement in Bukovyna as a factor and a component of the sphere of national education and schooling of the land in the second half of the XIXth century and the first third of the XXth century, its genesis being revealed. The leading determinants and development trends have been outlined, the major tendencies of the work of public organizations in the sphere of education and schooling of the land have been determined and specified, the organizational forms of social and educative work of public organizations with young people of school age have been discussed, the content and the forms of social and educative work of the Ukrainian societies of Bukovyna among adults have been characterized.
