Essay

This thesis is the first comprehensive study in Ukrainian historiography of socio-economic development of South-East Volyn cities in the last third of the XVI - the first half of the XVII century. It were investigated the population, social structure and ethnic composition of residents, the urban economy. Manufacturing field and organization of craft production, mines, trade, agrarian production in urban areas were analyzed. In this thesis were exposed the manner of obtaining tax deductions and traced fiscal policy of cities owner's Ostrozkyh and Zaslavskyh. The system of cities protection, the state of the castle buildings, the number and variety of military supplies were studied.
