Object - future music teachers' training for professional activity in the higher educational establishments. Aim - to prove scientifically the pedagogical conditions for formation of future music teachers' professional competence in the process of their independent educational activity. Methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical. Theoretical result and novelty - the essence and structure of music teachers' professional competence have been defined and scientifically grounded; the pedagogical conditions of professional competence formation of future music teachers in the process of self-education have been scientifically grounded and investigated; components, indexes and levels of formation of future music teachers' professional competence have been characterized. Practical results - methodology of formation of student's skills in the process of self-education, forms of their using in professional subjects and pedagogical training have been developed. Efficiency of introduction is high. Branch- pedagogical ,musical-educative pedagogical establishments of different levels, system of after- diploma education.
