The dissertation thoroughly examines the policy of the Soviet state party-governmental apparatus as to the Roman-Catholic church in Ukraine from the middle 1940th to the middle of the 1960th, its specifics, forms and methods. There are also explored forms peculiarities and specifics of the functioning of the Roman-Catholic Church as a result of such politics. Based on the analysis of the variety of the archive sources as well as scientific literature are clarified factors, which were influencing the Soviet politics as to the Roman-Catholic Church in general and in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in particular. The periodization of Soviet policy towards the Roman Catholic Church is specified and argued within the general framework of Soviet anti-religious policy. The forms and methods of repressions and administrative pressure are contextualized, the scale of that anti-religious policy, its characteristic features and consequences for the Church are shown.
