Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to studying of morphogenesis of mandible in immature and adult rats under effect of high-level exogenous glucocorticoid hormones and bisphosphonate drug - sodium zoledronate. Using modern tech-niques we proved that administration of hydrocortisone acetate and dexametasone results in growth retardation, imbalanced zone distribution of the growth cartilages, inhibition of dentin formation, hyperhydration, deminer-alization of bone tissue and dentin with imbalance of mineral contents, desta-bilization of mineral ultrastructure and strength decrease of mandible. Changes in immature animals were more pronounced as well as changes under effect of dexametasone. We first described ultrastructure of bone mineral and dentin of mandible under effect of hydrocortisone acetate, dexa-metasone and sodium zoledronate. We proved that sodium zoledronate significantly reduces negative effects of glucocorticoid hormones on mandible growth and formation.
