Essay

The dissertation deals with studying the main properties of some popular tendon sutures (the methods of M.M. Kazakov, B. Cuneo, F. Lange and V.I. Rozov) and the A.P. Dyachenko’s tendon suture proposed in 2003. It covers an integrated comparative assessment of the named sutures, as well as estimation of how these sutures influence upon tendon healing, character and intensity of morphological changes in tendon tissue. On the ground of a number of biophysical experiments, experimental operations on rabbits (in which the bloodstream of the tendons, and the peculiarities of morphological changes in tendons after tenorrhaphy were studied), it is established that in whole the A.P. Dyachenko’s suture satisfies the requirements most of all. The quality characteristics of the A.P. Dyachenko’s suture depend on variant of its application. Among popular tendon sutures one must single out the F. Lange’s method that still yields to all the variants of the A.P. Dyachenko’s method in biomechanical properties and matches the A.P. Dyachenko’s method in the extent of vasculature disorders. Considerably worse results were observed in B. Cuneo’s, V.I Rozov’s and M.M. Kazakov’s sutures. The proposed method of integrated comparative assessment of tendon sutures allows estimating and making an optional choice of tendon suturing method in both the experiment and clinical practice, as well as comparing the properties of the using suture with the ones of other popular techniques.
