In the thesis the reasons of the opposition movement and direction of the population of southern Ukraine are cleared out, creating their own periodization, a general picture of the national liberation movement manifestations of the struggle for national idea is completed, peculiarities of anti-Soviet and human rights movement are studied, the role of Jewish communities in the religious movement of ethnic minorities is highlighted, activity of the Crimean Tatar national movement is shown, along with the features of the religious struggle for religious freedom.
