Zhanna T. Development of local history in Chernihiv region in the first part of XIX century.

In Candidate's thesis the complex investigation of local history studying of Chernihiv region's development in the first part of XIX century was performed on the basis of large range of sources, majority of which was involved into science circulation for the first time. The foundation and activity of the first scientific societies in Nizhyn gymnasium of high science (in the twenties of XIX century), Chernihiv province statistical committee and "Commission for description of the regions of Kiev school district" - the first centres of local history in Chernihiv region were researched. The role of local periodicals, such as "Chernihiv province records" and "Chernihiv leaflet" were defined, and their contribution to developing of local history studying of Chernihiv region was determined.
