The process of methodical competence of teachers of special subjects of higher agricultural educational establishments is examined in the work. It is determined the essence of the concept "methodological competence of a teacher of higher educational establishments" as a construct of three criteria: semantic, operational and motivational. It is determined and theoretically grounded pedagogical conditions of methodical competence of teachers of special subjects of higher agricultural educational establishments: internal (mental-physical qualities of a teacher, teacher's motivation for improving the methodological competence, teacher's social and personal responsibility for the students' knowledge) and external (rational organization of teachers; objective, systematic, sympathetic control of the teaching process, provision with scientific, educational and reference books, creation of favorable working conditions), the conditions of formation of methodical competence of teachers of special subjects. A structurally-logic circuit of methodical competence of teachers of special subjects of higher agricultural education establishments is developed. It is based on such criteria: goals and objectives, pedagogical conditions, main forms of methodical work and technology of methodical activity, principles of forming methodical competence, organizational and pedagogical terms, the sequence of stages of the process in time, the basic forms of technical work, the components of complex theoretical methodological knowledge and ways of implementation and results. A technique of methodical competence of teachers of special subjects of higher agricultural educational establishments is made. It includes motive pathways and areas: pre-professional training of students of agricultural universities, training at the Pedagogical Faculty of Agricultural Universities, the system of scientific and technical work at the university, teacher's self-education, quality management system of the scientific and pedagogical employee; activities of departments of pedagogics, psychology, methods, activities of institutions of postgraduate education, performance review of teaching staff. As a result of experimental research it has been verified the effectiveness of the developed technique of methodical competence of teachers of special subjects of higher agricultural educational establishments.
