Essay

The thesis summarizes the results of epizootological monitoring and determines the changes of the epizootic situation concerning animal brucellosis in Lugansk region (1980-2010). The thesis describes the causes, course and eradication of outbreaks of bovine brucellosis and swine brucellosis. There has been carried out determination of enzootic character and incidence of the detection of false positive serological reactions during routine screening studies on brucellosis, there has not been determined territorial and brucellosis conditionality of the cases of false positive results detection in the rose Bengal test or the tendency to increase the number of reacting animals after repeated adjustments studies. There has been systematized the structure of epizootological monitoring of the welfare concerning animal brucellosis. The recommendations for the differentiation of false positive results of serodiagnostics 'The system of diagnosis adjustment and prevention of animal brucellosis in the cases, with single detection of positively reacting animals' have been developed. There have been developed, tested and patented means to increase specificity and sensitivity of the rose Bengal test. An advanced scheme of bull immunization with fixed antigen B. abortus strain 19 has been tested. There has been carried out a comparative evaluation of sensitivity and specificity of ELISA test systems and traditional serological tests for diagnosis of brucellosis.
