Hnyp I. The activities of the Greek Catholic Church in the periodical press of Eastern Galychyna (20 – 30 years of XX-th century).

The dissertation is based on a wide range of historical sources which reveal the image of the Greek Catholic Church in Ukrainian and Polish periodical press of Eastern Galychyna in 1919 – 1939 years of XX century. The position of public of Galychyna region concerning the main trends of Church activities in the interwar period is also studied. Some key problems on the place and role of the Greek Catholic Church in the life of population of abovementioned region at that time are depicted using new methodological instruments. The peculiarities of reflection of political activities of creek catholic bishops and clergy in the international and domestic arenas of Richpospolyta II in the press of Calychyna in 20 – 30 years are highlighted along with the most discussed trends of their socio-economic activities. The course of public debate on the role of the Greek Catholic Church in the upbringing of Ukrainians in educational institutions of Eastern Galychyna and beyond is investigated. The parameters of the Greek-Catholic priests’ activity in the field of culture and science depicting in periodicals of the interwar period are analyzed.
