Postoliuk H. Development of social services for prevention of newborn children abandonment in Ukraine.

Іn the thesis psychological, demographical, socio-economical, socio-cultural reasons for newborn children abandonment are systematized; the meaning of the term "prevention of newborn children abandonment" is clarified, the theories and principles which serve as a basis for prevention are defined; other countries' experience of socio-pedagogical work on prevention of newborn children abandonment is described. Also, the stages of development of social services for prevention of children abandonment are defined; the forms of prevention work in counselling departments of the centres of social services for family, children and youth in women's counselling centres, maternity hospitals are characterized; content and technology components of activities of Mother and Child social centre are outlined; perspectives of development of social services for prevention of newborn children abandonment are characterized in context of the state family policy.
