Object - the university educational process; aim - to find out the influence of implementation of scientific and methodological support means of theoretically substantiated structural and contextual model on the level of legal competence of prospective teacher; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the research has been the first to provide theoretical substantiation of structural and contextual model of forming legal competence of prospective teachers that incorporates interconnected structures: concept and purpose-oriented, content-oriented, technological, control-assessment; the essence of legal competence as a complex integrated formation in the structure of teacher's personality has been specified; aspects of pedagogical objects modeling as well as forms and methods that support forming legal competence of prospective teacher have been thoroughly analysed; results - experimental testing of the model of forming legal competence of prospective teachers in the university educational process allows for the wide implementation of the given model in the teacher training system; the teaching manual "Forming Legal Competence of Prospective Teacher" has been compiled; field - pedagogy
