Essay

The author analyzed the components of the image of Lithuania and Lithuanians in the Ukrainian public and political opinion of 1989–2009, established the factors and the ways of its formation constructed through the media, scientific, educational and fiction, personal experiences of people who attended it. The components of this image are: the historical memory of a common past in Ukrainians and Lithuanians Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the finding of a high level of national consciousness and internal consolidation of the Lithuanian society, the virtual absence of negative stereotypes about Lithuanians.
