Kuravskiy V. Creation of the Air Force of Ukraine (1991-2005 pp.): historical perspective.

Thesis for scientific degree of candidate of historical sciences, specialty 20.02.22 - Military History. - National University of Defence of Ukraine, Kiev, 2012. The dissertation examines the state of scientific research and sources on the creation of the Air Force of Ukraine. In the dissertation also defined methods for solving scientific task. Carried out an analysis and as a result determined the influence of the major factors in the process of creating the Air Forces of Ukraine. Among them were important followings factors: the politico-military and military-strategic situation around Ukraine, the military, economic and military-technical factors, regulatory and institutional arrangements. Highlighted and researched of institutional arrangements and inconsistent steps of government of Ukraine on the establishment of a new form of the Armed Forces. Revealed a systematic trend with respect to postponing measures of creation the Air Forces of Ukraine, lack of continuity and dominance of subjective approaches to this process. Defined and argued three stages of creation the Air Forces of Ukraine: from 1991 to 1996 - creation the frame of the Air Forces of Ukraine. From 1996 to 2000 - development of the Air Forces and Air Defence Forces, as the separate branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2001 to 2005 - completion Air Forces of Ukraine process creation. Developed the practical recommendations on the use of experience in creating the Air Force in the future reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
