Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to studying of morphogenesis of mandi-ble in immature and adult rats under effect of barbiturates (phenobarbitone and benzonal) and efficacy of silibor for correction of alterations caused. Using modern techniques we proved that administration of phenobarbitone and benzonal results in growth acceleration, imbalanced zone distribution of the growth cartilages, inhibition of dentin formation, hyperhydration, demineralization of bone tissue and dentin with imbalance of mineral con-tents, destabilization of mineral ultrastructure and strength decrease of mandible. Changes in immature animals were more pronounced and depended on dosage. We first described ultrastructure of bone mineral and dentin of mandible under effect of phenobarbitone and benzonal. We proved that silibor significantly reduces negative effects of barbiturates on mandible growth and formation.
