Essay

The complex of morphological research techniques has revealed the Age-related peculiarities of remodeling of heart chambers’ structures during prolonged administration of cadmium chloride into the organism of experimental animals. It was discovered that uneven, disproportionate hypertrophy and dilatation of heart chambers develops with age which is evidenced by increased stromal- cardiomyocytic ratio, the relative volumes of affected cardiomyocytes and endotheliocytes, reduced capillary-cardiomyocytic ratio and reserve volumes of ventricles, thickening of arterial walls, narrowing of their lumen, reduced secretory activity of mioendocrine cells of atria. It was revealed that age-related structural changes dominate in the left ventricle. Nuclear-cytoplasmic ratios in cardio-myocytes of ventricles and atria, as well as endotheliocytes of vessels hasn’t changed, indicating the stability of the structural cell homeostasis. It was found that prolonged administration of cadmium chloride into the organism of experimental animals lead to more pronounced morphological restructuring of the parts of the myocardium at all levels of its structural organization. In a simulated set of pathology crucial deviations of the structural homeostasis at the organ, tissue, cellular, and ultrastructural levels in different parts of the heart were discovered. The degree of manifestation of revealed morphological changes dominates in the left ventricle and depends on the age of experimental animals.
