Historic-pedagogical analysis of pedagogical and cultural-educational activity of the society "Prosvita" in Podillia region in 1906-1923 has been done in the dissertation. Social-political and cultural-educational preconditions of creation of the society "Prosvita" in Podillia region have been distinguished; main stages and directions of activity have been singled out and characterized; the content and forms of pedagogical and cultural-educational activity as for organization of cultural leisure time of population, popularization of enlightening ideas through the library and publishing activity, conducting of national upbringing, processes of Ukrainization, opening of educational institutions, liquidation of illiteracy have been revealed.
