Konsatantinova J. Noblemen of South Ukraine in the late 19th-the early 20th century.

The dissertation is concerned with the study of the social role played by the noblemen of South Ukraine in the late 19th-the early 20th century. In the course of the research, the researcher highlighted the extent to which the problem is presented in scientific literature, determined the aspects under research in the present dissertation and classified the sources as well as the tools of the research. The dissertation presents analysis of the evolution of landowning and homesteading in the post-reform decades as well as its peculiarities in South Ukraine, determines the main focus of the entrepreneurial activities carried out by the noblemen and characterizes the changes in their qualitative and quantitative features in the post-reform period. The dissertation determines the peculiarities of corporate organization of the South-Ukrainian noblemen as well as the place they occupied and the role they played in local government. The researcher also characterizes the main trends and forms of the charitable activities carried out by the noblemen. The typical features of the noblemen's everyday life are also described.
