Khomenko L. Performance and inheritance of frost resistance and its using in bread winter wheat breeding

Object of study - winter wheat frost resistance and peculiarities of performance and inheritance of the trait. Purpose - determination of peculiarities for inheritance of bread winter wheat frost resistance and study of plant response on critical temperatures of freezing. Research methods - field, visual, laboratory, statistical, calculative and comparative. Genetic component in the realization of the potential of trait of frost resistance when interacting internal and external factors has been established. The possibility of combining in one genotype characteristics of high frost resistance and productivity has been proved. Existing methods for determination of frost resistance have been improved and new one has been elaborated. Adoption - 13 high frost resistant genotypes have been selected and submitted for further study and use to the laboratory of breeding intensive winter wheat varieties of Myronivka Institute of Wheat named V.M. Remeslo of NAAS. Field of use - breeding research institutions.
