Cheban M. Scholarly, public and cultural activities of Mykola Andrusiak (1902–1985)

Object: scientific-organizational and social activity of Mykola Andrusyak, complex historical and historiographical sources related to the biography of the scientist. Purpose: based on the processed sources to cover public and scientific-organizational activity of M. Andrusyak in the context of social, political, cultural and educational processes of the twentieth century, analyze its scientific achievements, to establish a scientific contribution to the development of Ukrainian historical science, the activity of the Shevchenko Scientific Society, the Polish Historical Society, Institute of History of Ukraine, Ukrainian Historical Society. Methods: historical and genetic, comparative and historical, problem-chronological, biographical, analogy, deduction and induction, analysis and synthesis. Results: for the first time in Ukrainian science concretized and clarified some facts of the life way, public and scientific activity of Mykola Andrusyak, to the scientific community put a lot of little known or unknown materials from archives and libraries of Lviv and Kyiv, including personal documents scientist, correspondence with prominent historians and public figures. Scope: the preparation works of the modern history of Ukraine, Ukrainian historiography, the history of the Ukrainian diaspora in Germany and the USA, encyclopedias, reference books, in teaching practice.
