The dissertation deals with the problem of consciousness and leagal consciousness in contemporary psychological literature on the basis of a scientifically methodological analysis; analysis of theoretical bases and practical approaches of forming students' - future lawyers' legal consciousness in the conditions of higher educational establishment has been carried out. The content of the notions "professional legal consciousness" have been specified. Criteria, indexes and methods of formed legal consciousness in future lawyers, the model of forming legal consciousness of future lawyers in the conditions of higher educational institution have been worked out.
