The thesis is based on complex of historical sources and scientific papers covered the activities of youth organizations in Ukraine in the second half of 1980s - the 1990s years, found out the level of studying the issue in historical scholarship and characterized its source base. The factors that led to the creation of the youth movement, ideological views and activities of youth organizations in the USSR during perestroika are researched.
