A complex research of the history of company (“sotnya” – “hundred”) as a component unit of the administrative structure of the Hetmanate is accomplished in the national historical science for the first time. The author traced the process of creating the network of settlements. The characteristic geographical conditions and economic life of the region are given. The composition and powers of comрany’s management, Mena’s town hall, court and deputy are found out. The company’s participation in the events of the military and political life of the Hetmanate is examined too. The author is defined general population of the region, sex-age structure and typology of family structures. The social structure of company’s inhabitants is determined. The numerical proportion of representatives of different classes, their status, responsibilities and level of financial security are shown.
