Essay

The thesis investigates Ukrainian artistic-industrial fabrics as a phenomenon of artistic culture of the second half of the XXth - beginning of the XXIst century. It enlightens the stages of formation, development and decline of weaving enterprises, that manufactured decorative industrial fabrics. The thesis defines major centers of production. It characterizes heald and jacquard weaving techniques, allowing to create a decor. It classifies various artistic-industrial fabrics depending on their functions. It finds out art peculiarities, describes inheritance, tradition and innovation processes, as well as creative experience of artists-textile workers in industrial weaving of the late XXth - early XXIst century.
