Golub E. Breeding peculiarities of extra strong genotypes of bread winter wheat

Object: winter wheat varieties and lines from different genetic and ecological origin, F1 – F5, which was working out on different cross schemes of contrast parent by quality properties. Aim: to working out of theoretical aspects of winter wheat breeding on increasing of grain quality on extra-strong level and working out of initial material for breeding of this type varieties. Methods: field, laboratory- field, phenological investigations, statistic. Novelty: gene geography of different variants of loci with positive effect on grain quality has been determined. The increasing of productivity and quality of grain on winter wheat varieties within variety-change on the South of Ukraine. Results: using recombinant inbred lines the genetic, technological and biochemical criteria of extra strong genotypes identification at the final stage of the breeding process have been justified. The efficiency and characteristics of selection of extra strong genotypes among hybrids obtained using genetic sources of grain quality of the winter and spring growing habit was studied. Application stage: on basis of the research results and the genetic material obtained by the candidate for a degree some strong and extra strong wheat varieties were developed in co-authorship with other researchers, and the varieties entered into the national test trial: in 2010 – Mudrist’ odes’ka, in 2011– Nyva odes’ka, Melodiya odes’ka, Shchedrist’ odes’ka, Era odes’ka, and in 2012 – Harmoniya odes’ka, Sonata odes’ka.
