Dissertation is dedicated to solution of important research and technological task addressing enhancement of fuel economy and environmental performance of gasoline-fuelled vehicles under service conditions using fuel blend with bioethanol addition. The conducted tests of carburettor engine VAZ-2103 and of car VAZ-2107 showed that from the point of view of ensuring permanent energy indicators and the economic fuel consumption for the engines with various regulations it is relevant to restrict amount of bioethanol addition to gasoline by 10 % of volume. In the meantime it is established that bioethanol addition to gasoline in the amount of 20 % of volume will not lead to deterioration of environmental performance of carburettor engine. The research conducted on Volkswagen engine showed that the use of blended gasoline with bioethanol addition in the amount of 20 % of volume in engines with closed-loop fuel injection systems does not degrade the fuel economy versus use of commercial gas A-95. The presence of three-way catalyst in exhaust systems of such engines when using blended fuels with addition of bioethanol in amount of up to 20 % of volume allows to get the same environmental efficiency as when using commercial gasoline.
