Essay

The thesis is devoted to increasing the operational efficiency of cars and tractors with diesel engines. The manuscript shows that a significant proportion of failures of cars and tractors is associated with defects of fuel equipment, which by-turn is caused by poor antiwear and antifriction properties of fuel. Therefore it is proposed the introduction of multifunctional additives and this introduction significantly increases the antiwear and antifriction properties of the fuel. The best effect takes place at a concentration of 0.12% additives. The testing of high-pressure fuel pump at the test-bed with the system of tractor diesel power supply confirmed the positive effect of the introduction of multifunctional diesel fuel additive at a concentration of 0.12%. This effect is expressed in significant reduction (approximately in 1.48 times) of wear of fuel system items, namely the plunger and the injection valves of high pressure fuel pump and injector nozzle. In addition, it was found that the use of additives can reduce the specific fuel consumption by 3.2% at the average for all modes of diesel operation, while in vehicle operation it can reduce by 5.24% of the average.
