Essay

The contribution of local teachers in the development of theoretical and practical principles of environmental education in 20 - 30 years of XX century is analyzed. The content, forms and methods of environmental education of students in the heritage educators are determined. The activity of scientific naturalists on the definite problem in natural scientific societies is analyzed. The main directions of native teachers' ideas about environmental education in the researched period are determined and characterized: methodological teaching, educational, social and organizational, and publishing. In research the perspectives of progressive ideas of native teachers in 20 - 30 years of XX century are defined in the practice of modern schools and extracurricular educational institutions.
