Essay

The political and enlightenmental activity of Ivan Naumovich in the context of the Polish-Ukrainian relations and in the development of Ukrainian national movement in Galicia in the second half of the nineteenth century are analyzed in the research. The research shows the evolution of the political views of I. Naumovich and the formation of his identity through the analysis of his views on language, history, religious ritual and imaginary homeland.
