Object - professional training of students in higher technical educational establishments; aim - to find out the influence of theoretically substantiated pedagogical conditions of forming the need for professional self-improvement in students of higher technical educational establishments on the level of their readiness to self-improvement during their life span; methods - theoretical, empirical, of mathematical statistics; novelty -the pedagogical conditions of forming the need for professional self-improvement in students of higher technical educational establishments have been revealed and scientifically substantiated; the definition of the term "professional self-improvement" has been provided; the meaning of the term "the need for professional self-improvement" as a conscious need for social adaptation, self-realization and forming one's own "life strategy" in order to achieve full realization in one's professional life has been specified; the forms and methods of forming the need for professional self-improvement in students of higher technical educational establishments have acquired further investigation; results - scientifically substantiated pedagogical conditions of forming the need for professional self-improvement in future professionals have been experimentally tested and are worth implementing in higher technical educational establishments; theoretical ideas and practical research data can be helpful in the teaching process and in out of class activities with the students of higher technical educational establishments in order to improve the quality of professional training; field - pedagogy
