Yaremenko N. Tendencies of modern private education development in England and Ukraine

Object – private education in Ukraine and England as a system of education and socio-cultural phenomenon; the aim – to find out general and specific elements of present day private education in England and Ukraine; to reveal the specific aspects and tendencies in the development of the given phenomenon; to characterize the perspectives for further use of pedagogically valuable ideas for the improvement of organization and functioning of private education in Ukraine and for working out its new development strategies; methods – theoretical analysis, comparison and generalization, chronological and constructive-genetic methods, methods of correlation and systematization; novelty – the comprehensive analysis of the development of Ukrainian and English system of private education within the specific chronological period has been carried out; the contribution of outstanding educators, scholars and politicians to the study of theoretical foundation of private education has been characterized; the stages in the development of the socio-cultural phenomenon under research have been revealed and their specific aspects have been analysed; the set of terms used to discuss private education institutes has been specified; peculiarities of the teaching process organization in private higher educational establishments of Ukraine and “great schools” of England have been investigated; results – the theoretical ideas and conclusions of the research concerning the development of the present day system of private education in England and Ukraine have been used by the author in lectures and seminars while teaching “Comparative Pedagogy”, “Foreign Language (English)” in Kharkiv National Automobile University and in Kharkiv G.S.Skovoroda National Pedagogical University; field – pedagogy
