The thesis is dedicated to a complex investigation of Sydor Kovpak's military, state, social and political activity. It delivers the overview of his life and military achievements and describes his role in the capacity of a commander. The thesis as well brings analysis of basic stages of Sydor Kovpak's evolution in pre-war period and describes his activity in a course of the Great Patriotic War as a commander of one of the biggest partisan regiments - the Sumskiy regiment - in the temporary occupied Ukrainian territory.
