Essay

This thesis focuses on the formation and the functioning of Hetmans' court of the Left Bank Ukraine during the ruling of hetman I. Bruhovetskii up to the ruling of hetman D. Apostol. The author examines the development and the facility supply of hetmans' residence, symbolism in court etiquette and ceremony. The study highlights the hierarchy of the court ranks and servants. The research thesis argues that the formation of the whole system of rank property aimed to secure proper maintenance of a hetman and his court.
