Melnichuk M. Features of Tolerance as а Systemic Characteristic of Students’ Personality

The object of research is tolerance as a psychological phenomenon. The work purpose: to define features of tolerance as a systemic characteristic of students’ personality. The methods: theoretical – analysis, generalization, ordering and classification; empirical – standardized interrogation, projective technique; mathematic-statistical methods. The scientific novelty: dissertation is devoted to systemic analysis of the tolerance structure and levels of determination: psychophysiological, individual-psychological and social-psychological; it has been found out that the latter level (value orientations, personal maturity, social adaptation) is most important, the individual-psychological one (divergent thinking, empathy) has less importance and the psychophysiological level plays the smallest role in the determination of tolerance; it has been shown an interaction of different levels of determination, particularly the psychophysiological level promotes tolerance providing that value orientations are high (developed social-psychological level), while in another case – prevents. The practical value of research: the psychodiagnostic map of tolerance is developed, on the basis of this map the complex of techniques, directed on research to tolerance as a systemic characteristic of personality, is developed; the theoretical-methodological bases of a training "Tolerance in my life" are developed.
