Essay

The thesis deals with the development and formation of the socio-political life of Canadian Ukrainians in the period from 1945 to 1991 as well as various aspects of their organizations' activity. Shown are the reasons for immigration of Ukrainians, the characteristic features and aims of their public and political organizations. Analyzed is the Ukrainian ethnic group's involvement into the Canadian government's policy of multiculturalism. Examined is the activity of Ukrainians in various spheres of public life in Canada. Revealed are Ukrainians' efforts aimed at preservation of their national identity.
