Essay

The thesis reveals the life and leisure problems of rural population of Southern Ukraine in the postwar period of 1945-1955 years. The paper studies the problems on the basis of a wide range of sources and archive materials. Positive and negative changes of rural life are investigated, the main actions of the Soviet power in respect of reconstruction of cultural, social health and wealth aspects of rural life and service provided to Soviet peasants. The most common forms of leisure activities are revealed, as well as the purposeful negative action of the Soviet power against traditional culture of peasants, persecution of those who believe in God and religious meetings and rites.
