Oprya B. Professor Herynovych V. O. in Scientific-Pedagogical and Public Life of Ukraine (First Half of the XX Century).

For the first time thoroughly and comprehensively scientific-pedagogical and public activity of Ukrainian geographer, historian, regional ethnographer V. Herynovych (1883 – 1949 yy.) has been studied in the dissertation. On the basis of the analysis and attraction to scientific circulation great amount of archival materials, documents, publications in periodicals, scientific and popular science works of V. Herynovych, his path of life and scientific biography has been system reconstructed. Formation and evolution of theoretic-methodological and conceptual views of the scientist to the geographical and historic regional ethnography have been elucidated in the research. It is emphasized that he was one of the founders of anthropo-geographical direction of domestic geographical science, the contribution of the scientist into the development of domestic physical, economical geography, archeology has been shown.
