Kasap J. Development of monuments and museums protection activity on the territory of Podilya (middle of XIX – beginning of 40-ies of XX century).

Dissertation represents the complex research of the formation, development and functioning of monuments and museums protection activity on the territory of Podilya (within the southern part of the Khmelnitsky and Vinnitsa regions) in mentioned chronological limits. Based on an objective analysis of various sources and historiography achievements thoroughly studied the issue of institutional and legal framework, structures, forms, methods and practical results of work of the protection bodies of historical and cultural heritage and museums on the territory of Podilya. The similarities and differences of monuments and museums protection activity of the region at the time of the Russian Empire in the period of the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1921 and in the years of Soviet Union are analyzed. The selfless devotion of the founders and leaders in this field such as: M. Bilyashivsky, E. Sitsinsky, M. Simashkevych, Y. Aleksandrovych, P. Klimenko, G. Brilinha and others are exemined. The attention is accented on the negative impact of political repression in 1920s and 30s on the development of monuments and museums protection activity on the territory of Podilya.
