Essay

For the first time at the regional level the thesis examines the political, socio-economic, cultural and educational situation of Polish ethnicity in the region. Critical analysis of the processed source base allowed: to consider mechanisms of establishing national and mixed Polish village councils; to determine the socio-economic situation of Polish people in the region in the Soviet economic system; to establish positive and negative trends in the establishment and operation of cultural and educational institutions; to characterize the situation of Roman Catholic Church in the region, the main methods of antireligious propaganda.
