Essay

The object of investigation is lexical and phraseological units, methods, tools and examples of description and formation of "food / meals" concept; our purpose is to reveal system relations among lexical units of the micro-system. It will be done with the help of many-sided analysis and description of the main lexical and phraseological Russian language units with the meaning "food/meals"; the methods we used are observation, continuous sampling, descriptive method, component analysis, functional and onomasiological analysis and some others; the novelty of the research is as follows: system relations in "food / meals" micro-group are characterized from different points and this analysis is based on onomasiological and semasiological approaches; the results of the research are: the body of the micro-system units has been identified and their limits have been set on the paradigmatic level; the semantic properties of micro-system units have been studied; onomasiological and semasiological classification of phraseological units with "food / meals" component has been created; the different types of relationships in the lexical and phraseological group "food / meals" have been described; field of application is phraseology, semasiology, lexicology, lexicography, ethnolinguistics.
