Onatskiy M. Private Trade and Industrial Entrepreneurship in Kharkiv in the Period of the NEP (1921–1928)

The object of the research – private entrepreneurship in Kharkiv in 1920th. The dissertation purpose – to investigate the process of revival and development of private entrepreneurship in trade and industry of Kharkov in the period of the NEP. The methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, description, explanatory; historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-system, historical-biographic, prosopographical. Scientific novelty: In the dissertation the conditions of the revival and development of the entrepreneurship initiative in Kharkiv have been analyzed; the methods of the state regulation of the trade and industrial entrepreneurship in Kharkiv have been studied; the main trends of the development and the methods of the activities of entrepreneurs, their contribution to the reconstruction of the Kharkiv economy have been investigated; the quantitative parameters, sources of recruting, social, professional and national composition and mentality of entrepreneurs have been identified; the dynamics and scale of the development of the private entrepreneurship in the Kharkiv trade, the role of the private trade in the satisfaction of the population’s needs have been discovered; the forms of the entrepreneurship activities in the sphere of production have been shown; the role of the private economy initiative in the restoration of the Kharkiv industry and the flood of the market with consumer goods have been found out; the relationships between entrepreneurs and workers in the private sector and the role of the entrepreneur sector in reducing the unemployment have been analyzed; the process of the elimination of the private capitalist sector in the Kharkiv trade and industry in the conditions of reducing the NEP (New Economic Policy) has been studied. Practical value of research: the results of research can be used at a spelling of generalizing works and creation of general and special courses on a history of Ukraine, preparation of scientific researches on a history of entrepreneurship, local-lore study literature, expositions of historical and local-lore study museums.
