Markevych O. Volyn province government organization in the late 18th - 60-ies of the 19 th century

On the basis of attracting a wide range of historical sources and scientific literature the Volyn province government organization in the late 18th – 60’s of the 19 th century is investigated. The changes in administrative-territorial system on the territories acquired by the Russian Empire as a result of the second and third divisions of the Commonwealth, and the establishment of provincial management model are defined in the article. It is shown that the creation of Volyn province and the introduction of the provincial administration performed according internal Russian model without taking into account differences in the management of the previous state. Resistance of gentry compelled sovereignty of empire to perfect the network of administrative establishments, change their structure and numerical strength. Evolution of Volyn governor’s Institute, caused by political, social and ethnic characteristics of the region, which influenced the nature of the provincial government institutions, powers, structure is analyzed. The features of local bureaucracy formation of the mentioned period are found.
