Object - male gender identity. Objective - theoretical foundation and empirical research of peculiar traits of development of boys' gender identity in single-parent families. Methods: theoretical - retrospective and system analysis of literature on the investigated topic, systematization, generalization; empirical - empirical: questionnaire, expert evaluation, analysis of series of psychodrawings; statistical - descriptive statistical analysis of data, ranging, comparison of empiric data, correlative analysis; interpretational - psychological analysis, synthesis and interpretation of the obtained empiric data from positions of psychology of unconscious. In the research theoretical-empiracal data about the features of male gender identity development dynamics in the conditions of upbringing in isingle-parent family without a father in a period from junior school for youth age in relation to the attitude of representation of Self to representation of Sex in cognitive, behavioral and in-depth dimensions are submitted at first; the content of the key concepts of gender psychology based on in-depth dimension of the psyche and on positions of genetic theory are specified; the basic determinants of gender identity development of the personality are defined; the value of masculinity and manliness on the experience of gender identity by the man is considered; features of single-parent family as an agent of development of boy's gender identity are generalized; semantic, structural and dynamic features of gender identity of boys from single-parent families are demonstrated; the influence factor of absence of the father in the family on the content characteristics and course of boys' gender identity development during different stages of ontogenesis is submitted. The result of the research can be used in the educational sphere and in the psychological practice. The results of the research are implemented to psychological service in Kryvyy Rih gymnasium 91, to educational process at the Department of Psychology in Taurida National V.I.Vernadsky University, to educational process at the psychology-pedagogical faculty in Kryvyy Rih Pedagogical Institute of SHEI "Kryvyy Rih National University".
