Essay

In the dissertation we for the first time made a complex study of mor-phogenesis of skeletal bones in adult male rates under effect of 60-days inhalation of toluene basing on considerable experimental data. Using mod-ern morphological research methods (osteometry, histomorphometry, biochemical analysis, X-ray scatter analysis, biomechanical testing and mathematics) we obtained data that testify for adverse effects of inhaled toluene on bone morphogenesis such as inhibition of bone growth, imbalanced zone distribution in proximal epiphyseal cartilages and diaphyses of tibia, hyperhydration and minerals loss accompanied by imbalanced macroelement ratio, destabilized ultrastructure of bone mineral, and strength loss. In readaptation period after influence cessation, the negative effects of toluene gradually reduced yet even up to the 30th day of observation the test values were out of baseline ranges. We also proved that intraperitoneal injections of 2.5% solution of thiotriazoline (117.4 mg per kg of body weight) and per os Echinaceae Tinctura (0.1 mg of active component per 100 g of body weight) significantly reduce negative effects of toluene.
