Essay

The conditions of clothes forming have been analyzed on the basis of archive and literary materials and fund collections; the place of the clothes of this region in the system of the regional clothes complexes at the end of the 18th – beginning of the 20th centuries has been determined. Typology of different kinds and forms of clothes has been studied; fabrics, technological methods, artistic devices have been examined. Ornamental and image-bearing structure of clothes has been analyzed and the Ukrainian folk clothes of the Dnieper region have been regarded in the context of the folk art of the region (embroidery of the towels and mural painting).
