Object - the process of training prospective translators in higher education institutions; aim - to find out the influence of theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested pedagogical conditions on key competence formation in prospective translators in the course of their studying professionally-oriented subjects; methods - theoretical, empirical, of mathematical statistics; novelty - the research is the first to provide a theoretical substantiation and experimental testing of the efficiency of organizational and pedagogical conditions of key competence forming in prospective translators in the course of their studying professionally-oriented subjects; the term "key competences of prospective translators in the course of studying professionally-oriented subjects" has been specified as integral indices of the quality of education reflecting the ability of goal-oriented use of the complex of knowledge, skills, habits, attitudes to a certain interdisciplinary sphere of problems providing for teacher's readiness to carry out translating activity and ensuring its selforganization high level; methods and means of professional training of prospective teachers have been investigated; ; results - organizational and pedagogical conditions of key competence forming in prospective translators in the course of their studying professionally-oriented subjects have been experimentally tested in higher education institutions and are recommended for the implementation in the process of training translators; field - pedagogy
