Object - scientific activity of V.M.Bekhterev; the aim - to reveal and systematize pedagogical ideas of V.M.Bekhterev, to justify their value for the present day education; methods - personality-oriented and biographical, bibliography-searching, historic-retrospective, comparative, chronological, methods of theoretical generalization; novelty - the research is the first to reveal and systematize pedagogical ideas in the scientific heritage of V.M.Bekhterev; the social-pedagogical preconditions of V.M.Bekhterev's pedagogical ideas forming and development have been analysed; the system of V.M.Bekhterev's pedagogical ideas on the problem of personality upbringing has been characterized; the stages in V.M.Bekhterev's pedagogical activity have been scientifically substantiated; the experience of the scientist's theoretical ideas implementation in his scientific-pedagogical, editorial, organizational, social-educational activity has been generalized; scientific-pedagogical ideas of the scientist have been reviewed in the light of present day necessities; the aspects devoted to the study of a child's personality in V.M.Bekhterev's pedagogical heritage have been investigated; results - the research has proved that V.M.Bekhterev's pedagogical ideas are worth studying and incorporation in the present day educational and teaching process, the main directions, content, methods and forms of the scientist's pedagogical activity have been determined and characterized, the teaching course "V.M.Bekhterev's Pedagogical Ideas" has been designed and is used in the teaching process of educational institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation. 17 archival documents and V.M.Bekhterev's works devoted to his pedagogical ideas have been introduced for scientific study; field - pedagogy
