The dissertation presented for the scientific degree of Candidate of Pedagogical sciences on speciality 13.00.01 - general pedagogy and history of pedagogy. - Institute of Pedagogics of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2013. The dissertation presents systematic and comprehensive analysis basis of the organization and content of education and upbringing process at Pavlo Galagan Collegium (1871-1920 yy.), which is based on the archival, little known and published sources. The organization and teaching peculiarities of Pavlo Galagan Collegium are substantiated, they are - institutional basis of functioning (regulations; governing board; technical and material support); innovator principles of an educate system (principles, methods and forms of education); features of maintenance, forms and methods of organization of educational process, are in Collegium. A role and value of Pavlo Galagan Collegium is specified in public, cultural and educational life of country. Subsequent development was purchased by description and systematization of researches on noted issue. To the scientific appeal new historical facts, not popular and unknown documents, which will extend history of pedagogy knowledge about existence in school practice of Ukraine of such unique phenomenon, which of Pavlo Galagan Collegium, the collective of which kept the best traditions and wanted new in organization educational-educate to the process, was, are entered.
